BestSexToyBrands is an independent guide to the companies behind the sex toys you see everywhere: who they are, what they do well, and whether they deserve your money.

Why brands?

Search for "best vibrator" and you'll find hundreds of product lists, many of them out of date within a year. Brands change more slowly. A company that uses body-safe materials, builds toys that last and treats your data responsibly usually keeps doing so across its whole range. Knowing the brand helps you choose well even when the model you read about has been replaced.

Who we are

BSTB is an independent project, written and edited under the shared byline BSTB Editorial. We publish under a shared byline because this is still a topic many people prefer to keep separate from their professional name.

What we promise

• We tell you clearly when something is based on our own use and when it's based on research.
• We never recommend a brand because it pays more commission.
• We only recommend brands whose core products use body-safe materials.
• We update guides when brands change, and show when each page was last updated.
