Brand guide
Womanizer
The German brand behind Pleasure Air, the original suction-style clitoral toy.
What we like
- Invented the technology and still makes the most refined versions
- Wide intensity range with smooth control
- Good build quality and body-safe silicone heads
- Travel models are compact and well thought out
Watch out for
- Noticeably pricier than Satisfyer for a similar core sensation
- Air-pulse isn't for everyone, and some people prefer vibration
- Several overlapping models can make choosing confusing
Who Womanizer is
The first Womanizer was created in Germany in 2014 by Michael Lenke and his wife Brigitte. Instead of vibrating against the clitoris, it used pulses of air pressure: stimulation without direct contact. The brand calls it Pleasure Air. It became one of the most copied ideas in the industry, and “suction toy” is now its own category.
Womanizer merged with We-Vibe’s parent in 2018 to form WOW Tech Group, which combined with Lovehoney in 2021. It sits alongside We-Vibe and Arcwave, which uses the same principle in a toy for penises.
What Womanizer is known for
- Pleasure Air. Many people describe the sensation as faster and more intense than vibration, with less numbness.
- Refinement. Features like smart silence (the toy pauses when lifted away from the body) and very gradual intensity steps are where Womanizer earns its premium.
- Patents and imitators. Womanizer has been in legal disputes with competitors over the technology. Satisfyer in particular built a huge business on a cheaper take on the idea.
Who should buy Womanizer
If you already know you like air-pulse stimulation and want the most polished version, or you are buying a premium gift, Womanizer is the obvious pick. Liberty is a good-value entry point.
Who might skip it
If you are curious about suction toys but not sure they’re for you, try a Satisfyer first. It costs much less and tells you whether the sensation works for you. See our Womanizer vs Satisfyer comparison.
Our verdict
Womanizer is the reference brand for air-pulse toys. You pay for refinement rather than for a completely different experience, but that refinement is real.
